The School of Journalism and Communication hosted a forum in Guoxue Hall on July 9 with the aim of promoting and deepening the cooperation between China and Russia in educating journalists and other communication professionals.
At the event, which was co-organized by the Russian Research Center of Renmin University of China (RUC), the “China-Russia Journalism Education Union” was established.
The forum and the founding ceremony were presided over by Yi Zhihong, Vice Dean of RUC. She read aloud the names of the first 35 universities affiliated to the China-Russia Journalism Education Union.
Many officials and other important people were in attendance, including Vice Minister of Education Hao Ping, Party Committee Secretary of RUC Jin Nuo, Vice President of RUC Wang Liming, Dean of the School of Journalism and Communication Zhao Qizheng, Vice Dean of Moscow State Language University Gesheva Nova, Director of Moscow State University Department of Journalism Valdanova and Director of St. Petersburg State University Department of Journalism Gromova.
Professor Guo Qingguang, Executive Dean of the School of Journalism and Communication, read aloud the Beijing Declaration of the China-Russia Journalism Education Union. It states that its members will respect, trust and learn from each other, carry out pragmatic cooperation in the field of journalism and communication education and contribute to promoting China-Russia cultural communications and cooperation.
The event is an important one of the “China-Russia Media Communication Year.”
