Department of Broadcasting

The Department of Broadcasting cultivates students to become broadcasting professionals, including editors and reporters, as well as researchers for the radio and television industry. In over twenty years the department has graduated nearly a thousand students, many of whom now work in China’s national, provincial or local broadcasting industries. The curriculum has three components. Students acquire basic production skills, for example in the course Audio & Video Production. Students reflect on and practice skills of broadcast reporting and editing in courses such as Radio News Reporting and TV News Reporting. Students also intensively study and research the development of the radio and television industries and the laws pertaining to broadcasting.
