At 2:30pm on April 21, Xinhua News Agency "Speech of Young Talents" special meeting at RUC was held in 208 Mingde Journalism Building. The activity was jointly initiated by Xinhua News And Information Center and the Youth League Committee of Xinhua News Agency. Outstanding young journalists and editors who are also alumni of students shared their experiences.

Teng Muying, Gai Boming and Yang Yijun returned to their mother school to share their career stories with their alumnus. The exchange meeting was hosted by Chen Yifei, 2020 undergraduate of School of Journalism and Communication.

Teng muying joined Xinhua after graduating from the School of Journalism and Communication at Renmin University of China in 2016.

Under the title of "The Story behind Those Images," she told the story behind interviews and editing. She once spent ten days with a horseback medical team in Bandandel Pastoral Area of Tianshan Mountains in Xinjiang. During the interview, she was not only moved by the behaviors of doctors and the harmonious and beautiful doctor-patient relationship, but also felt the responsibility and mission of journalists. She believes that good news is always about the grassroots, and only by moving yourself can others be moved. Teng also took the micro documentary program "National Album" of the Xinhua News Agency as an example to explain how to tell big history and small stories.

Gai Boming, a 2010 graduate of the School of Journalism and Communication, is now a science and technology reporter of Xinhua News Agency's Beijing bureau.

He shared his five years’ reporting experience under the title of "Beyond imagination, In Awe of News -- The Things and Feelings of Science and Technology Reporting". "Science and technology news includes an opportunity to look into the future from the present." In his opinion, news reports are forward-looking and speculative. He explained the meaning of "in awe of news" and told the students: "A journalist is to dig out the good things of the people and offer them."

The last person to share is Yang Yijun, who graduated in 2010 and has been working at Xinhua for 11 years.

With the topic of "weather on the top and atmosphere on the bottom", he shared his work photos to let students understand the work and life in the Xinhua News Agency. Yang Yijun joked that he had "airport complex" because he is mainly responsible for foreign affairs and diplomatic coverage and needs to go on frequent business trips. He said that Xinhua News Agency has given him many opportunities to "recharge" and hoped that students present here would join the Xinhua News Agency in the future.

In the question and answer session, students actively put forward their questions to the three seniors and got detailed answers.

This activity not only broadened students' horizons, but also deepened their understanding of news media and journalism. Accompanied by warm applause, the Xinhua News Agency May 4th Youth Day "Speech of Young Talents" at Renmin University of China came to a successful conclusion.
