The Pakistani journalists who are participating in a year-long exchange program with the J-School have praised thenine-day trip they took tothe Chinese citiesChongqin, Nanchong and Chengdu at the end of April.
Saadulla, a producer at Pakistan TV, said that the visit broadened his horizon and that the trip was planned well. Rana, a journalist withPakistan Today, called the visit unforgettable and meaningful.
The journalists furthered their knowledge of the economic development in the west of China and enjoyed the hospitality of the inhabitants of Sichuan and Chongqin.
The trip began on April 23. The five Pakistani journalists visited the Information Office of Chongqing Municipal People’s Government, Chongqin Municipal Commission of Economy and Information Technology, Chongqin Municipal Logistics Office, Chongqin Foreign Trade and Economic Relations Commission, the Information Office of Chongqin Liang Jiang New Area, and Sichuan Provincial Department of Commerce.
The journalists also visited companies that do business with Pakistan, including Silan, Lifan, Zongshen Industrial Group and Yingxiang, and Huaxi Energy.
RUC’s ProfessorZhong Xin, Assistant to the Dean and Director of the International Affairs Office, accompanied the Pakistani journalists on their trip.
The Pakistani journalists work at Associated Press of Pakistan, Pakistan TV, Independent News of Pakistan, Pakistan Today and Daily Pakistan. They arrived at RUC in September last year.
