Incumbents of J-school successively visited nearly 30 retired faculty in Beijing and sent blessings and greetings to them on the eve of the Spring Festival in 2019.

The old teachers still expressed their concern about status quo of the school when talking with the teachers who came to visit.

As the first journalism education institution established after the founding of New China, many faculty in the School of Journalism & Communication of Renmin University of China have been engaged in journalism education for nearly half a century.

Professor Qin Gui, 91 years old, graduated from Yenching University and has taught in the department of Chinese of Peking University and the School of Journalism at Renmin University of China. He was once the deputy dean of J-school.

The 87-year-old Professor Zheng Xingdong has been engaged in the teaching and research of newspaper editing for a long time, and has initially constructed a newspaper editing system with Professor Chen Renfeng and other scholars. During the visit, the dean of the school and the teachers of the journalism department exchanged with him about the teaching reform of journalism.

 The 86-year-old Professor Xu Guoxing has been teaching photography for a long time and was awarded the honorary trophy for "Making Special Contributions to Photography" by the Chinese Photographers Association. During the visit, the head of the college said that the photographic materials collected by Mr. Xu are a valuable asset.
