On June 21, the 2019 degree conferment ceremony and graduation ceremony of the School of Journalism of Renmin University was held in the Mingde Hall.

Mr. Fang Hanqi, honorary first-class Professor of Renmin University, together with all faculty members, all graduates, family and friends of graduates, attended the ceremony.

Accompanied by the solemn bell, the video “Mingxin Memory 2019” began to play on the big screen at 9:00 a.m. The video was created and shot by the graduates of the class of 2019, recording the college time that they have gone through.

Professor Zhou Yong, Secretary of the Party Committee and Vice dean of the School, hosted the ceremony.

In the warm applause, the tutors walked up to the podium to meet and greet their graduates. With the solemn music, 17 professors attended the ceremony conferred degrees to all the undergraduates and postgraduates one by one.

This year, a total of 464 students graduated and received degrees. 290 received master's degrees and 164 received bachelor of arts degrees. At the Renmin university's doctoral degree conferral ceremony held on June. 19, 10 students from School of Journalism received the Doctorate in literature.

After the degree conferment ceremony, the video “The Days in RUC School of Journalism” opened the graduation ceremony.

Amidst the cheers of the students, Mr. Fang Hanqi, who is already 93 years old, stepped up to the podium to present autographed books and graduation plaques to the representatives of the graduates.

The graduates also sent their best wishes to the School of Journalism. In 2019, the first class of the Academy of Future Communication graduated. The graduates sent the books they compiled and published to the school's documentation center.

Professor Hu Baijing, the executive dean of the school, gave a farewell remark to the students on behalf of the school: say thank you to your parents, leave a place for your ideal, and build up your professional ability. He blessed the students: “If your life is like a rose, you can pass your hand to it; if your life is like a tiger, you just pass the rose to it; if the rose sticks in your hand, then you shout: 'Mom, I want to go home! School of Journalism, I want to go home!'”

At the end of the ceremony, all faculty members and students stood up and waved to their friends and relatives who are on the viewing platform, taking a family photo with VR panoramic photography together.

For over 60 years since its establishment, the School of Journalism and Communication of Renmin University has cultivated tens of thousands of graduates for the country. With their outstanding contributions, the alumni are deemed for a symbol of excellence in all fields.
