A five-person delegation led by Sherzodhon Kudratkhojayev, the president of Journalism and Mass Communications University of Uzbekistan, visited School of Journalism and Communication, Renmin University of China on Nov.16, 2018.  

On the welcome meeting, Professor Zhang Huifeng, the deputy Dean of J-school extended warm welcome to the Uzbekistan guests on behalf of J-school. He also introduced the basic situation of J-school to the guests, such as its history and the talent training programs.

The teaching and academic research in J-school, and the cooperation between J-school and colleges from Russia and central Asia were then introduced by Professor Wang Runze, the Deputy Deean of J-School and Professor Zhao Yonghua.

“Our school attaches great importance to exchanges with countries and regions along the ‘Belt and Road’, and has been cooperating with many colleges”, said Professor Zhang. 

Having the detailed information about J-school, the delegation expressed their willingness of cooperation. Later, the future cooperation plan on a variety of aspects was discussed on the meeting, including holding training courses together and promoting bilateral visits of teachers and students 

The delegation also introduced the basic situation about Uzbekistan University of Journalism and Mass Communication, such as its establishment background, present majors, enrollment scale and development plan.

The President of Uzbekistan Shavkat Mirziyoyev signed on May 24, 2017 to establish the University of Journalism and Mass Communications. The goal of the university is to train  talents in journalism and communication. The university accepted the first batch of students in 2018. The bachelor degree program comprises four directions including journalism, news service and public relations, media design, media marketing and advertising. The master program includes seven directions, namely journalism, advanced journalism courses, international journalism, editing and publishing, information technology, television and radio, and media management.
