William Davie, Fulbright Scholar and Associate Professor at the University of Louisiana at Lafayette,visited the J-School on May 4 and 5 to share his vision on how best to educate broadcast journalists.

Davie gave a speech entitled “Learner-Centered Teaching Model.” He discussed strategies for teaching broadcasting skills with J-School students and professors for almost two hours on May 4.

Davie also lectured on “Reality Television Evolution in the USA and China.” He reviewed the history and types of American reality shows and analyzed similarities and differences with Chinese reality shows.

Professors Zhou Yong and Zhong Xin, and Associate Professors Yan Mei and GaoGuiwu from the Department of Broadcasting, together with more than 60 students, attended the speech.

Davie and J-School faculty members expressed strong interest in strengthening exchanges and cooperation between RUC and the University of Louisiana at Lafayette.
