The National Textbook Work Conference and the first National Textbook Construction Award meeting were held and the winners were officially announced on Oct. 12. Many textbooks compiled by teachers of School of Journalism and Communication, Renmin University of China, were on the award-winning list.
The History of Chinese Journalism and Communication (the third edition) edited by Fang Hanqi, honorary professor of SJC, won the first prize of the first National Excellent Teaching materials Award. Prof. Wang Runze, Prof. Zhao Yonghua, and Prof. Zhao Yunze are also co-authors of the book. Prof. Guo Qingguang’s Communication Tutorial (second edition) won the second prize. In addition, the textbook Marxist View of Journalism in Practice -- Comment on Classic Cases of News Reporting, whose deputy editor is Prof. Yang Baojun, together with Interview and Writing, whose deputy editor is Prof. Zhang Zheng won the second prize.
The National Textbook Construction Award is the highest in the field of textbooks in China. It is an important system for reviewing and displaying the achievements of textbook construction in serving the Party and the country as well as personnel training. The award also aims to enhance the sense of honor and responsibility of textbook workers, and promote the construction of a textbook system with Chinese characteristics and an advanced level around the world.
