More than a hundred scholars and practitioners participated in the Forum on New Media Technology in News and Communication, which was held at RUC on December 5, 2015.

Professor Guo Qingguang, the Dean of the School of Journalism and Communication, emphasized in his welcome lecture the news media’s responsibility for the quality of cultural transmission.

In the constantly changing media environment, both the news media and journalism educators are facing big challenges, Guo Qingguang said. Therefore scholars and practitioners need to cooperate with each other closely.

In a speech entitled ‘Internet: Revolution in Technology and Society,’ Professor Gao Gang from the School of Journalism and Communication analyzed the internet’s huge influence on people’s daily life and information habits.

The forum was organized by the School of Journalism and Communication, together with the Research Center of Social Transformation and Social Governance.
