Fifteen staff and faculty took online relay run, amounting to 102.83 km, to embrace the 65th anniversary of School of Journalism and Communication of Renmin University on Aug 3.
On and off campus, in and outside Beijing, 15 took part in the acitivity held by Labor Department of School of Journalism and Communicatoin, including Hu Baijing, executive dean, Fang Jie, president of Labor Department, and other faculty and staff including Jiang Qiurong, Gan Guangqian, Tang Zheng, Chen Jijing, Ta Na, Pan Wenjing, Dong Chenyu, Jia Zhiying, Wu Yixiang, Li Yuanbin, Zhou Qilin, Zhang Xiaoyue and Mao Jiawen.
Dating from 1955, the School of Journalism and Communication of Renmin University of China is the first journalism education institute established by Communist Party of China. Three years later, journalism departments of Peking University, Renmin University and Yenching University were incorporated. Over the past 60 years, the School of Journalism and Communication, known as the cradle of the country’s journalists, the base of Marxist journalism, the innovator of journalism education and the platform of global journalism education cooperation, has graduated more than 10,000 students. Many articles that had a profound effect on Chinese history like Practice is the sole criterion for testing truth were from the graduates of the school. And it will celebrate its 65th anniversary in October 2020.
