22 managers from 21 overseas Chinese media of 14 countries and regions participated in the themed activity-“Affection for Beijing·Overseas Chinese Media’s visit to Beijing 2018”at School of Journalism and Communication RUC from June 26th to 29th.

Led by Beijing Returned Overseas Chinese Federation (BROCF), co-organized by the Returned Overseas Chinese Federation of RUC (RUCROCF), and supported by Beijing Capital Development (Holding) Group Co., LTD. (hereinafter referred to as BCDH), the activity is undertaken by School of Journalism and Communication.
The opening ceremony is attended by Zhang Jianming, executive vice chairman of the university council, Zhao Hongsheng, secretary of party leadership group of BROCF, Rong Yang, chairman of BROCF, Hu Baijing, executive dean of School of Journalism and Communication, Li Xiaoli, deputy secretary of BCDH’s party committee, Yin Qiang, chairman of RUCROCF.
Zhang, executive vice chairman of the university council, extended warm welcome to participants on behalf of RUC and expressed congratulations to the activity. Communication is the essential part of a country’s soft power, he pointed out.
In recent years, China’s comprehensive strength has been significantly enhanced and played an increasingly important role in the international interactions. Beijing, as the capital, has undergone rapid development and stepped into a new phase of implementing Beijing-Tianjin-Hebei integration strategy. In the meanwhile, the misunderstandings from the outside still exists which need to be gradually solved through improving our soft power. BROCF has done a lot effective works including improving the images of China and Beijing through overseas media.
After the opening ceremony, Prof. Hu Baijing, Yin Qiang and Song Jianwu delivered lectures over the media development tendency, the situation of Beijing-Tianjin-Hebei integration strategy, and media operation to the visited media managers.

During the activity, media managers participated in the learning and seminar session in RUC, and also visited China International Publishing Group (CIPG), Beijing Winter Olympic Committee, exhibition hall of city subcenter, etc.

On June 29th, relevant leaders and all the media managers participated in the commencement hosted by Zhao Yunze, deputy dean of School of Journalism and Communication at RUC.
