The 2022 graduation ceremony for foreignjournaliststrainingprogramfor China Development Researchand Media Communicationheldsuccessfully

To implement the strategic plan of "Tell China's Stories Well and Spread China's Voice Well"of the 20th CPC National Congress, School of Journalism and Communication of Renmin University of China and China International Press Communication Center (CIPCC) jointly held the closing ceremony of the 2022 "China Development and Media Communication" training program for foreign journalists on the morning of October 31.

Forty foreign journalists from China-Africa Media Exchange Center and Asia-Pacific Media Exchange Center attended the ceremony. Hu Baijing, deputy secretary of the Party Committee of Renmin University of China and Vice President of the school, Liu Yutong, counselor of the Information Department of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Yu Lei, director of the China’s Center ofInternational Information Exchange,Shi Yan 'an, Director of the International Exchange Department of Renmin University of China, and Zhou Yong, Executive Dean of School of Journalism and Communication of Renmin University of China attended the ceremony and presented certificates to the journalists. Zhong Xin, professor of the school, presided over the ceremony.（Member A）

Liu Yutong expressed congratulations to the journalists and friends on theirprogram and gave his sincere gratitude to Renmin University of China. He also introduced that the Department of Information of the Chinese Ministry of Foreign Affairs, the China Public Diplomacy Association and the School of Journalism of Renmin University of China have been working together to support the foreign journalists' exchange training programsince 2014. The training course introduced foreign journalists to China's experience in development, achievements in reform and opening-up and socialist modernization, helping foreign journalists to further understand the real and comprehensive China. Liu Yutong said that the 40 foreign journalists of the training program had just finished reporting on the 20th National Congress of the Communist Party of China. They used their first-hand reports to spread vivid stories happening on the Chinese land in the world. He believes that they would become a bridge for friendly exchanges between the Chinese people and people all over the world, and promote exchanges and cooperation between China and other countries in the world.

Shi Yanan congratulated the journalists and thanked the Information Department of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and the China Center for International Exchange of Information for their trust and support to Renmin University of China. He said that, as a brand project of Renmin University, the "China Development Research and Media Communication" program has achieved remarkable results in completing the training of 296 foreign journalists and enhancing mutual understanding among journalists from different countries, promoting cultural communication and exchange between China and Africa and the Asia-Pacific region.(Member B)

Kenyan journalist Bryan Morris Ochieng Otieno, the representative of African journalists in the training program, spoke at the graduation ceremony. Afterreviewing his experience of studying and living in China , he expressed his heartfelt thanks to all the teachers who participated in the program.

“Experience is the best teacher,” Bryan said, and the experience of participating in this training program offered him a deeper understanding of China's historic culture, development path and achievements.

Indonesian journalist Luki Aulia, the representative of Asia Pacific journalists in the training program, expressed her gratitude for the professional knowledge and insights shared by the teachers in the course, and said that she would apply the knowledge to the practice of journalism in her own country. China is a country experiencing rapid development and promoting common development of the world, she said, and it has becomed a pioneer of development for other countries.

Zhou Yong stated that SJC has forged a deep friendship with foreign journalists and conveyed his hope that both sides will continue the friendship and enhance exchanges and cooperation. He stressed that the graduation ceremony is not only an end but also a new beginning from which SJC and friends from the media will concern about each other, contact each other, and cooperate with each other to seek a better future.
