PhD Program

The PhD program takes three years and offers four specializations: Journalism, Radio & TV Broadcasting, Media Economics, and Communication. The curriculum consists of core courses, methodology courses, professional courses, electives, an academic forum and prerequisite course.

PhD in Journalism

The specialization in Journalism familiarizes students with the research on and the practices and theories of journalism and communication, with a focus on the former. Students take courses, pass written and oral exams and carry out independent research culminating in a dissertation. After graduation students are equipped to do research and teach at universities. They could also take positions in government agencies and media organizations.

PhD in Broadcast Journalism

The specialization in Broadcast Journalism familiarizes students with the theories and professional practice of journalism and communication, with a focus on theories pertaining to radio and TV. Students take courses, complete written and oral exams and carry out independent research culminating in a dissertation. After graduation students are equipped to do research and teach at universities. They could also take positions in government agencies and media organizations.

PhD in Media Economics

The specialization in Media Economics familiarizes students with the theories and professional practice of Journalism and Communication, with a focus on theories pertaining to media economics. After graduation students are equipped to do research and teach at universities. They could also take positions in government agencies and media organizations.
