Twenty-eight journalists from 27 African countries received a certificate after completing the lecture series “Studies of Developments in China and the Media”on October 31.

The J-School officially welcomed a new group of Pakistani journalists to campus on October 19. The journalists participate in the third batch of a year-long exchange program, which premiered in 2014 and is organized by the J-School and the Chinese Embassy in Pakistan.

The School of Journalism and Communication hosted an ICA post-conference in Guoxue Hall on June 14. The conference on campus directly followed the world-leading annualconference held by the International Communication Association (ICA) in Fukuoka, Japan. The theme of the conference was the relationships between power and communication theories.The conference attracted many experts from universities in the United States, Britain, Germany and China. The School of Journalism and Communication hosted a forum in Guoxue Hall on July 9 with the aim of promoting and deepening the cooperation between China and Russia in educating journalists and other communication professionals. At the event, which was co-organized by the Russian Research Center of Renmin University of China (RUC), the “China-Russia Journalism Education Union” was established. The forum and the founding ceremony were presided over by Yi Zhihong, Vice Dean of RUC. She read aloud the names of the first 35 universities affiliated to the China-Russia Journalism Education Union.

The establishment of the School of Future Communication was celebrated in Beijing on July 21.It aims to cultivate experts in digital communication and will receive 100 million yuan for its mission.

A delegation of the Shepherd College of Purbanchal University visited the School of Journalism and Communication on September 8.

The journalists also visited companies that do business with Pakistan, including Silan, Lifan, Zongshen Industrial Group and Yingxiang, and Huaxi Energy.

J-School Professor JiaWenshan gave an invited talk at the 12thAnnual Meeting of the China Association for Intercultural Communication, which was heldfrom May 27 to29at the Dalian University of Foreign Languages. The topicof Jia’s talk was “New Globalization and the Cultivation of Chinese Capability in Intercultural Communication.”
